Do you believe in the principles within the American Legion Constitution’s Preamble?
Are you aware of the Resolution passed at The American Legion 1923 Convention?
Summarized it states;
Resolved, That we consider any Individual, group of individuals, or organizations, which creates, or foster racial, religious or class strife among our people… to be UN-AMERICAN, a menace to our
liberties and destructive to our fundamental law…and inconsistent with the ideals and purposes of The American Legion. This was published in The American Legion Magazine, August 2020 edition page 8,
by National Commander - James W. “Bill” Oxford.
We must all speak out against the willful dishonesty, voter suppression and gerrymandering of, “the want be autocrats.”
"If Americans stop believing in the system of institutions, then what is left but chaos… It is the theme of every autocrat who ever seized power or tried to hold onto it," writes US Navy Adm.
William McRaven, Aug.17, 2020

During these hard times
veterans have come to us asking for assistance and our funds are being depleted. We rely heavily on Poppy Days, Village Sponsored Events, Veteran's Appreciation Day, and other opportunities. Well
COVID-19 has put a HOLD on these events.
There are two outstanding
opportunities right now that will help us increase our reserves. The first is the Thursday Night Veterans Draw held at Tailgaters Bar and Grill where we sale raffle tickets for a chance to draw the
Queen of Hearts. If picked the winner receives a percentage of the pot the rest is split between our post and the VFW. We also sell pull tabs at the drawings.
The second chance to raise
funds is at the Veterans Premier Raffle Hall where a BINGO Type Raffle is held on Thursday nights and pull tabs are sold. Once again we get a percentage of the proceeds.
I am calling on you to help share the load with us on
these events. You can do this by coming out to volunteer your time and help us sell tickets and pull tabs. So as not to burn out the regular helping team we can do this. Be a part of your team
by participating. We have mask and gloves and practice safe distancing. Please contact the post and let us know you want to help. 630-226-8484.
